About us
Obciniada is a derivative from the word “obcină”, a geographical feature specific to Bucovina. It represents an elongated ridge of hill or mountain which connects two peaks.
Sustainability
We are the first festival in Bucovina to place sustainability at the core of the human experience. We want the adventures experienced by each of you, our guests, to be both genuine and responsible. From reducing waste to using environmentally friendly materials, every decision we make considers the future of our surroundings and the planet. We aim for Obciniada to be a celebration for everyone and an example of how we can care for the place that hosts us.
The festival area - Ariniș Inn
The symbol of all this, and of the countless treasures waiting to be discovered, is what the locals refer to as Kissing Gate in Ariniș Park, which lies at the entrance to the Ariniș Inn, where the festival will take place. Being a tribute to new beginnings, it serves as an invitation to discover yourself amidst the wonders of Bucovina. Between two greetings and a smile, standing before that gate, you feel like part of a story much greater than yourself, and everything falls into place.
Mountain sports
As passionate mountaineers, we’ve fallen in love with the trails and rocks around us. Thus, Obciniada has become a place where we bring together mountain bikes, running shoes, and climbing gear, crafting experiences for everyone. The three competitions within the festival are ready to welcome you, along with the wild paths you’ll discover.
Music
And just like every memorable movie has an iconic soundtrack, Obciniada will unfold to the rhythms of alternative rock, blended with folkloric accents and electronic music. For evenings of relaxation and starry skies, we’ve prepared two stages and a lineup of bands to suit everyone’s taste.
Craftsmanship and local culture
Here, every person has a dream – the dream to come together, to be authentic, and to have purpose. That’s why we stay close to our local artisans and producers, integrating them into our story and showcasing how wonderful the products that they craft truly are. We can’t contain our excitement to see their creations make their way to your plates and homes.
