Route climbing
Hidden in a small forest and separated by a hill, there are two sister climbing areas: Pietrele Brusturosul and Pietrele Maghernitei. These locations host two large formations of sandstone, with a potential of 25 climbing routes, ranging from 15 to 20 meters in length. Most of the routes are vertical, with impeccable grip typical of compact sandstone, and are ready to be sent by climbers of all levels. Grab your partner and let’s climb until we touch the sky!
Bouldering
A little higher up and down the hill, scattered amongst the flora, the boulders are playing hide and seek, waiting to challenge you. As part of the festival's sustainability theme, we are excited to announce that Nicolae Durnac, an IFMGA mountain guide who has opened most of the climbing routes in Rarău massif, will share with us the basics of cleaning rock and will teach us the ways in which we can preserve the integrity of the environment in the process. Therefore, during the festival, we will have "Clean and Climb" sessions, where you can actively participate in opening the two climbing areas by cleaning the routes you find. And because your opinion matters, you will also have the chance to contribute to establishing the grade difficulty of the routes in the area.
Access to the climbing area
Access to the climbing areas requires a 40-minute walk at a low intensity. From the festival area, there is a 10-15 minute drive. More specific information will be available soon.
In exchange for the participation fee, at the Obciniada Climbing Festival, you will receive a participation kit that includes:

A topo of the new climbing area where the event will take place;
