Obciniada Night Run Rules
I. General information
Obciniada Night Run is a nighttime mountain running competition featuring two different races: Fuga pe Toaca Cross and Făr’ de-astămpăr Semimaraton.
The races are open to all sports and nature enthusiasts who wish to participate in an organized mountain running competition.
The routes include short asphalt sections, marked and unmarked trails, steep climbs, and rugged terrain, characteristic of mountain running races.
II. Participant obligations
Participants must meet the following conditions:
They must be in good health and have a minimum level of training.
For participants under 18 years old, a parental or guardian consent form is required to validate their participation in the event.
III. Responsibilities
Each participant is responsible for their own safety.
The organizers, sponsors, volunteers, or partners are not liable for injuries, damages, cancellations, or delays occurring during the event.
Participants must prioritize their own safety as well as the safety of others.
Liability Waiver: Signing this waiver is mandatory upon registration.
For online registrations, it is considered signed by checking the box: "I agree with the competition regulations and take full responsibility, as stated in the liability waiver."
IV. Race categories
Fuga pe Toaca Cross – 12.5 km, 450 m elevation gain
Făr’ de-astămpăr Half Marathon – 23 km, 1010 m elevation gain
V. Mandatory equipment
Head-torch with fully charged batteries
Race number and timing chip, provided by the organisers, which must be visible
Fully charged mobile phone
VI. Registration Validation
Registration becomes valid only after confirmation of the registration fee payment.
Presenting a valid ID is mandatory when collecting the participation kit.
VII. Cancelling your registration
Refunds for fees paid online will be issued as a partial reimbursement to the bank account linked to the card used at the time of registration, according to the following conditions:
VIII. Change of participant name or race
The transfer of a participant's registration to another person or a different race is possible and will incur an additional fee of 50 RON, payable at the time of the new registration or race transfer, plus the difference in participation fees.
Any such modification must be communicated to the organizers via email (contact@obciniada.ro) no later than May 15.
IX. Withdrawal from the race
The organizers may stop a participant for the following reasons:
Injury or major technical issues with the bike/helmet.
Exceeding the time limits set by the organizers.
Unsportsmanlike behavior, including violations of the regulations.
Withdrawal: Participants who decide to abandon the race must immediately inform the organizers. Any costs incurred for search or rescue due to an unreported withdrawal will be the responsibility of the participant.
X. Timing
Timing is conducted using chips provided by the organizers.
The chip must be worn throughout the entire race. Losing the chip will result in exclusion from the ranking.
XI. Signage
The routes will be properly marked with reflective tape, directional signs, and warning signals for hazardous areas.
Participants must follow these markings throughout the race. Deviating from the designated route may result in disqualification.
XII. Checkpoints & Aid Stations
Participants must pass through all designated checkpoints along the route.
Failure to check in at a mandatory checkpoint will result in disqualification.
The locations of hydration and aid stations for each race are available on the competition website.
The organizers provide aid stations along the route, stocked with drinks and solid and liquid food supplies.
It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure they have enough food and fluids when leaving an aid station to reach the next one.

XIV. Rankings and awards
Individual rankings are compiled for each competition category.
Winners of the open categories will not be included in the age group rankings.
Participants who do not attend the awards ceremony forfeit their right to prizes.
If the minimum number of 4 validated participants for a race is not met by the time online registration closes, the race will be merged with the next lower age category of the same gender and timed together. This rule does not apply to the Family Race.
XV. Force majeure
In the event that the event has already started, the registration fee is non-refundable.
In cases of force majeure (extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, emergencies), the organizers may decide to cancel or postpone the event without the obligation to refund the registration fee. However, the organizers may offer alternatives, such as a voucher for another event, rescheduling, etc.
XVI. Disqualification
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who does not comply with these regulations or in the following situations:
Loss or modification of the race number
Failure to follow the designated route
Using any means of transportation during the race
Littering on the course; packaging may only be left at checkpoints, hydration, or aid stations
Disrespect toward other participants, organizers, or volunteers
Exceeding the time limit announced by the organizers
XVII. Personal data protection policy
Details regarding the processing of personal data collected during registration can be found in the privacy policy published on the event’s official website.
Participants have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of their personal data in accordance with applicable laws.
Consent for the use of images and videos of participants is granted upon registration for the competition.
XVIII. Recommendations
Water bottle or compact cup (Plastic cups will not be provided at hydration/aid stations)
Energy bars or energy gels
Trail running shoes
Rain jacket (if rainy weather is forecasted)
XIX. Other provisions
The organizers reserve the right to modify routes, schedules, or other organizational details if necessary, with prior notice of any changes announced through available media channels.
Participants are required to follow all instructions given by the organizers, volunteers, and security personnel.
